Born and raised in Hamburg, Germany, I currently live in Seattle, Washington, USA, where I recently joined UBER as a Cloud Security Engineering Manager. My team is working on secure architectures, best practices, engineering standards, monitoring, and threat detection/response solutions for all of Uber’s cloud assets and engineering efforts. 

Prior to this, I spent 18 years at Microsoft, where I worked in various engineering and engineering management roles contributing to Windows client security (developing and releasing security updates), anti-piracy, cloud security best practices, security testing (Windows and Office), and continuous integration/delivery for all the company’s commercial online services. In my spare time I also volunteer to deliver (security) engineering training to schools and start-up companies in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania.
