- Engine must have one carburetor and cannot exceed 515 ci. Engine must run
- on pump fuel with no fuel injection. Alum. blocks and heads are permitted.
- After market and prefab gear boxes are allowed.
- Vehicle must have OEM body and frame with a max. wheel base of 133". No four door or extra cabs. Trucks pulled prior to 2002 may be excluded from the 133" wheelbase rule but wheels must be inside the original fender well location.
- Must cover bed if any part has been removed. Must have windshield, back glass, full floor pan, firewall and at least one operational door. Must have operational kill switch, and seat belt with shoulder harness.
- Engine must be in stock location under the hood and no further forward than the stock radiator location.
- Hitch must be a max. of 26" high at hook point, no shorter than 30% of wheel base or 40" from center of rear axle to hitch point. Must be stationary in all directions. No (L) type hitches, must have at least a 3" opening for hook, and hitch angle not to exceed 33 degrees.
- Max. tire size is 34x18
- No nitrous oxide
- Steel bell housing of SFI 6.1 or greater required. No mods. to the bell housing are allowed, it must be completely enclosed, and have a block plate. Automatic transmissions must have a SFI approved blanket or shields. All shields must be in place including dust shields.
- Must have an operational kill switch
- Alum. or steel deflection shields must be mounted on each side of the engine. They must run the complete length of the engine block and be a min of .060 thick.
- Safety loops are required around all yokes and universal joints. Min 5/16" thick for steel, 3/8" thick for alum. and 6" wide. Min. of 1 loop around driveshaft, min. of 1" wide. Two piece driveshafts need one loop per section.
- Front weight racks or weights cannot extend more than 60" from the center of the front axle to the further most point. Tow hooks excluded.
- Vehicle must have bumper or bumper pads.
- Fire suits must be worn and they must meet or exceed 3.2 A-1 performance specs.
- Vehicle must have two wheels, no more than 6" off the ground within 6" of forward most part of vehicle. Wheels must be a min. of 6" in dia. by 2" wide and 3' apart.
